Back pain doesn’t kill, it tortures – destroying lives and livelihoods; it accounts for half of all chronic pain and is the leading cause of sickness absence from work.
The financial burden of back pain is enormous:-
EVERY DAY it costs the NHS £1.3 million; EVERY DAY it costs £13 million in Disability Benefits; EVERY DAY it costs the UK Economy £37 million That’s a staggering £19 BILLION every year!
The campaign during BackCare Awareness Week is focused on the construction industry, which generates 30,000 new back injuries every year.

At my clinic, I work with people who have back pain – golfers and other sports people, computer operators, dentists, hairdressers, the not-so-young and the young –
Yes, we see people with back pain aged 3 to 95 years old!

It is a lot simpler than you think. With the correct assessment and treatment, tight muscles are relaxed so that structures can be returned to the position they were intended to be. Pain usually eases and then goes away. Really SUFFERING IS BY CHOICE!

Sports Massage with Racing Metro 92 – November 2011
